 The manufacturer of the bulk products also uses less material to package items: less plastic casing, less sealant, fewer stickers (that usually display the SKU number of each item), etc. These costs may seem small, but together they are a significant percentage of the total product cost--up to 40%! Excluded from this cost is labor expense--people will need to either package these items or operate the factory machines that do. Less labor is needed, which allows companies to reduce the price of their goods.
